Balance Trainers Buyer’s Guide

If you keep the before points in mind, you can easily go out to the market and buy balance trainers, right? No!

The indo Kick tail pro

This board is 40 in x in, has a 350-pound weight limit, sold as a deck only or in a package with a 6.5in wide roller.

This is another advanced balance board that is made for people into board sports, particularly wakeskating.

It features kick tails on the board to make it easier to practice moves like ollies and skateboard flipping tricks.

If you are looking for a fitness/balance board, i suggest you avoid this board.

I think their are better options for peopling looking for a balance board for skateboarding, surfing or snowboarding.

The indo kicktail mini

This board is 32in. x 8.75in., has a140-pound weight limit and comes with a 5in. high roller. It is sold a solo deck or in a package with the 5in roller.

This board is made mostly for kids/teens, the board size is similar in size to skateboard deck.

The board has double kick tails for practicing ollies and skateboard filipping tricks

A Vew-do board would be better if you are trying to get better at board sports, but they are a little more dangerous and challenging than this board.

Learning kicking tricks might be easier on this board then a Vew-do board because to land them all you have to do is fall on the roller whereas with a Vew-do board you have to get the track on the bottom of the board to line up correctly with the groove cut out on the roller.

This board would be good for a young kid to develop balance and coordination so they can get into a board sport. But if the kid can already skateboard a Vew-Do would be a better choice.

The Indo gigante

The indo flow giganten24in. balance cushion  inflates by mouth, and the more you blow up the cushion the more unstable it becomes to balance on.

The thing I like about this big cushion is that it allows you work on carving and 360-degree balance skills that you can not develop when using an indo board used the roller.

This larger cushion is better for working on board sport skills because it will provide more instability than the smaller cushion.  You can make a balance trainer by placing this cushions under an old skateboard deck, snowboard or surfboard.

Indo foam roller kit

The kit is composed of a 36in foam roller, cut up into an 18in foam roller, a half-round roller, two wedges and two slivers.  If you are concerned about talking a lot of falls while learning to use a balance board, this kit will allow you to progressively work your way up to using a balance board with a roller This product would be perfect for a physical therapist that needs to be able to change how challenging the board will be to use depending on the balance skills of their clients. If you are already into board sports or have experience using a balance board with a roller, you will probably find using the board with these pieces of foam to be too easy.

If you got one of these boards and are not sure what else to do with it after you have masted rocking back and forth check out my article showing over 100 tricks and exercises you can do with a balance board.

It’s a source of healthy fun

You know that guilty feeling you get after watching more TV than you intended to? Well, you can wave bye bye to that feeling forever.

When you get your first balance board, you’ll quickly discover that life is a lot more fun when you’re wobbling your way to improved balance and coordination…and you’ll want to be on your balance board, like, all the time. Which means you can get a workout whenever you watch TV or an endless supply of YouTube videos.

Material

The authentic leather is often the first choice since they’re flexible, durable, lightweight, and breathable. But, some often come with a high tag. Meanwhile, the synthetic leather is a bit cheaper, more supportive and water-resistant.

And if you’re looking for the most comfortable baseball cleats as well as the best lightweight ones, don’t miss the Adidas Adizero Afterburner 2.0. Since the whole of the shoe is surrounded totally in mesh, you can get a snug feel while wearing. Besides, its construction is made from the lightest material, providing the lightweight cleat.

Infielders

With two choices of metal and plastic cleats for the infielders, you should consider the field’s surface before deciding. If the ground is dense and compact, avoid picking the plastic cleats because they can hold too much dirt and make you difficult to move around. So, the top recommendation, in this case, is the metal cleats.

Outfielders

As the outfielders, the best baseball cleats that they should look for is the metal ones. Since the grass is soft as compared to the dirt infield, the outfielders can believe that these cleats help them dig in and out of the ground effectively and easily.

Pitchers

The pitchers need the cleats that can bring them the great traction of stability. Hence, the metal-studded cleats are often the best choice because they are able to stick into the ground accurately. In addition, the cleats are also low-top to avoid causing rubbing.

And the good selection, in this case, is the New Balance L3000VThis product features all the best features that the pitcher needs.

Catchers

Since the catchers need to be agile and quick during a baseball game, they often choose the lightweight cleats that offer speed, durability, and agility. If you suffer from pain due to the metal cleats, you should look for the molded ones.

Our top pick for the catchers is the Mizuno Spike ADV Franchise BK. This product has the particular cleats with rubber stubs, offering the durability and comfort as the catcher wants.

Nike Huarache 2KFilth

If you need the best metal cleat, no one can beat the Nike Huarache 2KFilth. With a combination of synthetic leather and TPU mesh, this cleats offers a form fit that is durable and comfortable. Besides, the mesh material helps to boost breathability, aiming to get rid of odor and keep the socks dry, even when you’re playing under the hot sun.

Although the Nike Huarache 2KFilth has the metal cleat, you still feel comfortable thanks to an extra cushion on the bridge of the feet. In addition, the geometric design creates a smooth surface that stops dirt from sticking. Since this product offers a variety of colors and styles, be free to pick up the one you like most.

Adidas Adizero Afterburner 2.0

For the lightweight and speed cleats, the Adidas Adizero Afterburner 2.0 will be the best choice. The shoe itself is not only spread totally in mesh for giving the lightweight feel but also made of LITESTRIKE EVA, the lightest midsole ever. Although the cleats are lightweight, they will not grip the ground.

In addition, when observing the cleat portion of the shoe, you will recognize its waved pattern on the bottom that gives you utmost gripping capacity. Of course, you are able to pick up any color such as white-grey, power red, black, gray and so on.

Mizuno Men’s Spike ADV Franchise BK

If you want the best baseball cleat that is suitable for playing baseball as well as other sports, please take a look at the Mizuno Spike ADV Franchise BK.

Instead of making from the combination of leather and synthetic, this baseball cleat is used a particularly designed rubberized material. Relying on that, you cannot only get the air flow through the shoe but also receive the best durability while wearing through seasons. Additionally, there is a full-length midsole inside the cleat, providing functional comfort and limiting pain in your feet.

Especially, the 9-spike advanced outsole features rubber stubs that are ideal for all field kinds and perfect for leagues that refuse the metal cleats.

UNDER ARMOUR

Similar to New Balance, Under Armour is one of the newest brands of baseball cleats. Through trials and errors, its products have improved, providing the great flexibility and breathability for athletes. Since they’re new, some are unsatisfied with their unreasonable price.

Amongst brands on this list, Mizuno might be the only one whose products are nearly made for baseball players. Their different cleats give a great support that is perfect for each position on the field. Moreover, it’s durable, stylish, dependable, and straightforward. Although this brand is not popular like the others, more and more advanced athletes start wearing its products in high-level competition.

Adidas is a well-known brand of footwear, but it’s actually not the best choice when it comes to buying the baseball cleat. But, in case you’re looking for the suitable product for younger players, it will be okay since this brand has a variety of low-cost choices.

Tennis Shoes

Tennis shoes are becoming more and more popular with nurses.

If your work involves a lot of walking on the hard floors of a health center, the best tennis shoes for nurses is an option you should consider.

Sneakers are designed to absorb shocks and provide a level of support which can be even higher than clogs.

In fact, sneakers are probably the most comfortable nursing shoes.

If you choose a good brand, they will be flexible and lightweight and will support you throughout the day.

Casual shoes

If you don’t do that much walking, you might want to choose something more casual, like slip-on shoes.

Some of these shoes are so comfortable that it’s almost like wearing a pair of slippers.

The support might not be as good as other options, so you need to be careful of long term damage.

These can be a good option if you don’t spend all day on your feet or on some special occasions when you need to look better than usual.

Alegria

Their secret is their patented footbed which is ergonomically designed to fit the contours of the feet. The outer sole is slip-resistant and can be used on any surface.

The Alegria shoes provide excellent arch and heel support and are perfect for long hours on your feet.

They come in a variety of vivid patterns and cool designs which are always a plus.

Their motto is simple: ‘create comfortable shoes that invoke happiness’.

And they have been doing this for two decades and hopefully for many decades to come!

The price is also pretty sweet for shoes of this quality.

Nurse Mates

Nurse Mates has been delivering quality and innovative nurse products for more than 50 years.

They provide everything a nurse need, from watches, the best compression socks, scrubs and of course footwear.

Their products are durable and comfortable, and their unique creative flair makes them the leader in the market.

Work adequacy

Ideally, nursing shoes should be anti-slip, easy to clean and conform to your workplace rules. Preparing for your NCLEX Exam? Check out our review on the best NCLEX review books today!

They have to be robust and resistant to provide sufficient protection.

Although price shouldn’t be your primary concern when it comes to shoes, keep in mind that you should buy two pairs each year for maximum benefit. This also goes hand in hand with finding the best watches for nurses.

Once again, it should be the last concern on your list. A good working shoe doesn’t have to be pretty. Fortunately, a lot of efforts have been made from manufacturers, and it’s now possible to find good shoes which actually look good.

HANDLEBARS

On the contrary, handlebars that are too low place beginning riders in a really aggressive position, which can cause them to tire out more easily as well as put strain on their neck.  For more adventurous riders, a more aggressive position can be beneficial, but for the average young child rider, a mid-rise handlebar is ideal. For experienced older riders, the shape of the handlebars best for them depends on the type of riding they want to do, but for the average rider, low-rise to mid-rise is best.

HAND BRAKES

On the contrary, well-designed brakes are very responsive and when activated, easily stop a bike with minimal efforts by the child.  Designed with small reach levers, that are much closer to the handlebar grips than standard levers; well-designed brakes are easier to activate and easier to pull.  In fact, when riding a high-end bike for the first time, we highly recommend having kids walk the bike before riding it to help get a feel for the proper amount of pressure needed to stop the bike (which is usually much less than they anticipate). (first two images) and the

First things first

First of all, you can narrow down your options quite a bit by thinking about the type of climbing you usually do.

From left to right: The Boreal Joker, a comfy, flat shoe; the Red Chili Corona, a great middle ground; The Evolv Talon, a serious downturn for serious overhangs

Foot Shape

Foot shape is one of the most important factors to consider when buying climbing shoes. A poorly fitting pair of climbing shoes can totally ruin your day, week or even climbing career. It literally be make-or-break for new climbers; if your first pair of shoes is so badly fitted and uncomfortable, it will put you off heading to the wall or crag. This obviously means less climbing, which in turn means less progression, leading to  frustration and giving up altogether.

Here we’ll try to give you some understanding of foot shapes, and give you some examples of climbing shoes that fit these shapes.

From left to right: the Evolv Bandit, a fairly high volume climbing shoe; the Evolv Valor, a mid-volume climbing shoe; the Evolv Geshido, a low volume climbing shoe

Climbing Shoe Width

From left to right: The Boreal Joker Plus, a wide fitting shoe; the La Sportive Katana, a mid-width shoe; the Red Chili Spirit, a narrow climbing shoe

Width is a more commonly understood variable, and a good width-wise fit is more obvious when trying climbing shoes on.  Too narrow, and your toes will be pushed into uncomfortable and ineffective positions, too wide and the shoe will roll around your foot when edging. The most obvious place to feel whether the width of a shoe suits you is obviously around the widest part of your foot, at the first knuckle of your toes. If it is too tight here and causes immediate discomfort, you probably need something wider and conversely if there’s any space here you need a narrower climbing shoe.

Heel Depth

From left to right: The Five Ten Stonelands have a deep heel cup; the Scarpa Vapour V have an average heel depth; the Evolv Valor has a fairly shallow heel

The heel is probably the trickiest part to get right when choosing new climbing shoes. If the heel is too baggy then the shoe may be inclined to slide off your foot when pressure is applied to the toe. That said, it is very rare to find a perfectly fitting heel, so don’t be put off an otherwise perfect shoe by a small amount of space under your heel. Keep an eye out for too much pressure on your Achilles tendon, as this is a hotspot for blisters and causing immediate discomfort.

Stiffness

From left to right: the Five Ten Blackwing, a super soft climbing shoe; the Evolv Geshido, a semi stuff shoe; the Five Ten Anasazi Lace, which is stiff and supportive

Climbing shoes vary a lot in stiffness, providing different levels of support, sensitivity and smearing ability. A soft climbing shoe will be more sensitive, allowing the climber to feel minute footholds and precisely place their foot, which is great for overhanging routes and problems, but not so helpful on vertical or slabby terrain. For climbing slabs and vertical walls, the best climbing shoes are stiffer to provide support for the toes when edging and using small holds.

From left to right: the Boreal Joker Plus Velcro comes with hard wearing rubber; the Evolv Shaman comes with with rubber that balances friction and durability; the Five Ten Anasazi comes with Stealth rubber, regarded by many as the stickiest around

Tips for Buying Climbing Shoes

Wrapping It Up

How Wearing a Proper Footwear can Help Alleviate Your Flat Feet Problems

If you’ve never bought a pair of shoes or orthotic devices for your flat feet before, it can be a little overwhelming. The real problem behind this is that flat feet need a bit more support than their arched counterparts. How flat is my flat feet? What arch size do I need? And a lot more questions.

The arch of the foot actually helps posture and puts the weight of your movement on the balls and heels of your foot. This weight distribution puts the stress on the parts of your foot that are meant to support it.

With flat feet, although the weight that comes with your every step is still distributed throughout the whole foot, the stress on your hip joint is different and can lead to different symptoms after repeated “unusual” wear and tear.

The best shoes for flat feet will have good arch support, as well as orthotic device inserts

Aching feet and over pronation are a few of the common problems that fellow flat footers face (say that times fast!).

As mentioned previously, the weight distribution across the entire foot is what would cause the aching foot and can often be relieved by wearing shoes that have the proper arch support and are fitted properly. If you can imagine for a second that flat feet have the entire foot touching the ground, whereas the arched counterparts actually only have a section of their foot on the ground.

It is for this reason arched shoes are a bit narrower, and if you’ve been walking in them, your feet may feel cramped or ache after long periods of use. You may need to wear shoes that are wider than normal to alleviate some of these aches.

Over pronation is a common problem while walking or running, where the foot tends to roll inwards upon every step and can put a lot of unnecessary stress on your knees and back. If you’ve faced problems with your knees or hips hurting after running, it may be because you over pronate your gait (the way you walk/run). In cases like this, choosing the best shoes for overpronation correction can drastically help. You may also benefit from using an orthotic that is specially fitted and made to your feet by a podiatrist.

What to Look for When Selecting the Best Shoes for Your Flat Feet

When you first set out on your journey to select the perfect pair of shoes for your flat feet, there are three tests you can do while purchasing to make sure you’re getting the correct support you need.

If the shoe bends where the toes are, it’s supportive enough, but if it bends toward the middle, it is not going to have the support you need. Your middles need support, not this bendy sole. Try another pair.

How well are you able to twist and torque it? Pick a shoe that is difficult to move. These are the shoes that will give you the most support for your arches.

Is the heel stiff? Proper heel support – often found in the best shoes for flat feet – just puts the whole package together. You won’t want to roll an ankle right after you get your arch support would you?

It all comes down to the basic premise – a stiffer shoe will be more supportive for your feet and will help prevent over pronation.

A study conducted by Hong Kong Polytech University found that motion-controlled shoes can help with overpronation by providing more stable base for your legs and feet.

You may be saying, ‘why would I want a stiff shoe? Isn’t it going to be really uncomfortable?’ Shoes today are made with a lot of padding and comfortable material so that your feet won’t actually feel like they are a prisoner in a plastic box. It is a common misconception that extra support means lack of comfort and for a flat footer, it will actually make you even more comfortable once you get the arch support your feet crave.

Know- How

First and foremost, podiatrists recommend that people with flat feet should find an experienced shoe salesperson who will measure their feet and recommend several different styles. This works much better than pulling random shoes off a department store rack yourself. Do be wary of any sales talk about a single model or brand. It’s just not that easy when you have flat feet. Try on several different shoes from different brands.

Stiff Outer Sole

Stiff outer soles are a must in good shoes for flat feet. They reinforce the built-in shoe support and resist your foot’s tendency to roll inward. Strong outer soles in everyday footwear are also rugged enough to withstand many hours of daily wear and tear.

Keen Atlanta Cool Steel Toe

If you need a shoe that is going with you to a construction site or anywhere that you need a solid pair of grips, this is the shoe for you. An elastic lace keeps it quick to get tight, as well as a slip-resistant rubber outer sole. These will keep your feet supported and cool in warm weather.

Skechers for Work

If you are standing on your feet all day, these shoes will keep you comfortable and support your flat feet so you aren’t rubbing them down for hours after work. Comfortable insoles with a sturdy bottom give you everything you could want out of a durable shoe. They can even double as a good pair of dress shoes for your flat feet.

ASICS GEL-Craze TR 2

These shoes feature a rear foot GEL cushioning system that keep your form and foot supported and protected with any number of sports that you do. There is a SpEVA midsole that gives your mid-foot a little bit of spring but keeps it arched to prevent the flat foot problems you may be accustomed to.

PUMA Tazon 5

These come with a TPU shank that offers increased stability (something that a flat footer must know by now is important). Arguably one of the best workout shoes for flat feet, they come in a variety of different colors, are made in the USA so the quality is top notch, and your feet will thank you for keeping them so well-supported for a range of workouts.
